An ongoing battle

I have tried my hardest to get back to my real life and stop reading the Twilight books and thinking abut them ALL the time. It almost worked yesterday when I went to work and "forgot" to bring a Twilight book to read. When I was sitting at my desk eating my lunch I fought for about 15 minutes before I went to Stephenie Meyer's website and started reading the partial draft to "Midnight Sun".

Since Christmas, when I got the books, not a day has done by that I haven't either read one of the books (including "Midnight Sun"), watched the movie, or thought constantly about the characters.

I really wish they had a "Twilight Anonymous" so I could get a sponsor and every time I felt like I was going to slip and watch/read/think about Twilight I could call them and have them distract me.

Edward calls Bella his personal brand of heroin. I think "Twilight" might just be mine.
When I read the books I picture the actors that play the characters in the movie to be the characters in the book. My imagination has done such a good job that I just realized last night that there was no "Blood typing class" scene in the movie. WEIRD!

I've made plans the see the third movie "Eclipse" with my sister, her friend and my best friend. Now I need to see if anyone else wants to come with us. We'll probably just go to Jordan Commons but who knows.

My husband's ex-wife and my cousin (who are friends with each other) have gone to the last two movie midnight premieres with each other and a couple of friends. I kind of thought they were a little nuts. Who would go to a midnight movie that wasn't "Harry Potter"? Now I know. I'm "nuts" enough now to do it. I have fallen head over heels in love with the books, characters, movies, everything Twilight!!!

One more thing..........TEAM EDWARD!!!!

An introduction to my obsession.

I needed a place to get out my obsessions so I created this blog.

Now I'll admit it....I was not a "Twilight" fan back when the books were released or even when the first (and partially second) movie came out. I don't like being on "the bandwagon" and have been late in getting into the fads. I didn't start reading the Harry Potter books until the fourth book was released.

I tried for so long to resist reading the Twilight books and I had no desire to watch the movies. What changed? My sister got me interested by just talking about a few things about the movie and showing me one scene.

She was talking about how the Cullens have a gourmet kitchen but never use it and then she wanted to show me a part of the movie where an actress was wearing some shoes she loved. The scene she showed me was when "Rosalie" broke the bowl and they showed her gorgeous shoes walking over the debris. That is what planted the "Twilight seed."

A few months later I decided to put Twilight on my Netflix queue, but I didn't put it as number one. After a few more weeks I moved it to the top of my queue. It was delivered and I put it aside (I'm kind of a procrastinator if you can't tell).

One Sunday night in November my husband had to take his son home and with the bad snowstorm the normal two hour round-trip turned into more like three hours. I felt like a kid stealing a cookie from the cookie jar. I was about to break a promise to myself not to have ANYTHING to do with Twilight. I wasn't sure how I would feel about Robert Pattinson, since I was not convinced of him playing a gorgeous vampire (I didn't find him attractive in "Harry Potter Goblet of Fire"). I also wasn't sure about Kristen Stewart as all I could think about when seeing her was "Panic Room" and "Catch that Kid". I gave it a chance though and watched the entire movie.

I LOVED IT!!!! I was excited to see "New Moon". I called up my sister and invited her to see New Moon with me. She asked me if I was going to read the books and I told her that I wanted to wait for all the movies to be released so that the movies wouldn't be "ruined". After seeing "New Moon" I decided that I WANTED to read the books.

I asked my husband for the paperback books for Christmas (Breaking Dawn is not currently out in paperback so it would only be the first three books).

I started reading the first book Christmas afternoon (of course my husband got me the books). I stayed up late, ignored my husband and other family members that were around, took the book with me to the bathroom, when I took a bath, ate dinner (even at restaurants). I finished the third book by the Monday after Christmas. Luckily I was at Brad and Camille's house (brother-in-law and sister-in-law) and Camille lent me the fourth book so I could start reading immediately. I finished the fourth book the next night.

Since that night I have re-read all the books again, even re-reading favorite parts from the different books. I also have read the "Midnight Sun" manuscript off of Stephenie Meyer's website twice. I have also completely scoured her website and read the outtakes and other items that are posted on her page. I bought a three-disc version of Twilight on DVD from Target and have watched the entire special features on all three discs and I have also watched the movie at least 3 times since then (bought the movie on Friday, January 8, 2010.)

That is the start of the story of my obsession with "Twilight"

Hello, my name is Raegan and I'm addicted to Twilight.
